Early Years Teacher/ Deputy Manager

Smiles Nursery is an award-winning nursery that provides excellent care for children aged   6 weeks old to 11 years old across two sites; one in Billingham, surrounded by an amazing woodland area, and the second in the beautiful grounds of Frederick Nattress in Norton. 

We pride ourselves in providing a wonderful environment, so that every child can thrive and flourish. We believe that nursery years are such an important time in our children's lives. We have a wonderful team of early years practitioners, who have a wealth of experience and knowledge. We work closely with our parents and carers and believe that a partnership approach is the best way to create strong bonds and happy children. It's only by visiting the nursery and seeing everyone working together, that the real atmosphere of the setting can be experienced.

Over the last 4 years, our room for three year olds has become increasingly busy and has highlighted the need for us to employ a full-time Early Years teacher who is innovative and creative in their approach and is continually developing their knowledge and practices in order to deliver Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum effectively.

This position will also include supporting the Manager as Deputy Manager.

We are looking for an applicant who possesses all of the following.

• QTS with sustained Early Years teaching experience
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of the ‘Characteristics of Effective Learning’ and the changes due to take place in the Early Years curriculum from September 2021
• A proven track record of providing a high quality learning environment which leads to excellent outcomes for every child in your care

·  Experience of management, leadership and working as part of a team

• An ability to build strong partnerships with parents and all stakeholders
• Energy, enthusiasm and be willing to adapt provision to meet the needs and interests of the children
• A creative practitioner who is reflective and flexible
• A commitment to outdoor learning
