How amazing is this! Well done Vienna we are so proud of you
This is Vienna, (Amy Richardson) an amazing 3 year old, who inspired by Sir Tom Moore took up an “100” challenge.... and absolutely smashed her target. Her and her supporters have donated over 100 tins to Little Sprouts and Norton Grange Community Centre Food Hub and a further 100 tins to St Michael’s Church, Norton What an absolute Star
We did it! The staff at Smiles Nursery Norton put their walking shoes on and raised an amazing £90 well done everyone
Thank you to everyone who has already donated to 'The White Feather Project's' mission is to help our local community eliminate food deprivation and we are so proud to be able to work together with all our families to support this.

The children in our rainbows room enjoy taking part in the toy project (together old and young) every Wednesday the children the staff attend Ashwood care home, where they love to sing and do activities with the residents. This is an amazing project, very similar to the Channel 4 documentary all peoples home for four-year-olds.
Smiles has proudly sponsored our local Royal British Legion branch who are about to travel across France to lay wreaths for all the fall in Billingham service men and women and will finish on the tour of the 8th of August at the men in gate event which will showcase 1600 British Legion standards to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of World War 1
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
Rainbows children are visiting our local library fortnightly, where they will be read stories and allowed time to freely explore the books available. Here at Smiles we believe that reading enhances a child's vocabulary, helps them understand how to read and write and helps them to understand different topics about the world.
Also we are setting up a library within our Rainbows room, as we would like to encourage the children to borrow a book to read at home.
Billingham Town Council with the support of BELP launch free school meal offer.
This weekend we will be launching a free meal offer to residents of Billingham and the Clarences to complement the excellent work being carried out this week by local organisations across our town. To take up this offer, you must have at least one child who is eligible for free school meals. Places are limited to 150 each day on a first-come, first-served basis.
Over the last couple of weeks Rainbows have been learning about money and they have made their own shop role play area within nursery. They have visited tesco to buy food to go in this area, scanned the food themselves and payed for them. They also learnt about road safety on their way to the shops.
After speaking to many families over the past couple of weeks, it has become very clear that our families share our vision of helping to support our community. We have now set up a donation drop off point within the setting for any donations, these will then be distributed to any families struggling this Christmas. Donations can include toiletries, toys, food etc. Please contact the nursery if you are struggling this Christmas, we are all in this together
We had lots of free activities for the children over two days at the Billingham carnival located in the big white tent.
